Who we are looking for

Are you somebody looking to bring your faith into your work? Do you have strategic skills that enable you to help shape an important vision?

If so, this is a great moment.

At the heart of this enterprise is the person of Jesus Christ. It is His life, death and resurrection and the gift of the Holy Spirit which leads a Catholic school to provide an education which is always illuminated by the light of faith.

Watch the video below to find out more about the role from Father Jonathan.

We are looking for leaders who have:

Value

Understanding of one’s role as a Christ-centred servant leader

Disposition to action

A conviction that leaders should strive for the success of all schools and their students, whatever their faith.

A commitment to work collaboratively with other schools and multi academies to help all in their communities, particularly the most vulnerable, to develop themselves and fulfil their individual vocation.

Displaying this through deeds not just words.

Interested candidates need to be on a journey as they explore their Catholic faith....

...but where they are on that journey is less important. We firmly believe that we are all on a continual process of understanding our roles as Christ-centered servant leaders. It is an ongoing process. For our CSELs, we are looking for committed and practising Catholics who live by their faith and have a desire to share it with others in their professional work.

What is a practising Catholic?

The Archdiocese of Birmingham requires that those appointed to certain key posts within Catholic schools are ‘practising Catholics’. The document below defines what a ‘practising Catholic’ is for the purpose of these appointments.

John 13:13-16

“You call me Teacher and Lord – and you are right, for that is what I am.  So if I, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you also ought to wash one another’s feet.  For I have set you an example, that you also should do as I have done to you.”
